Fischereiamt Berlin

An installation at the Fischereiamt (Dpt. of Fisheries of Berlin) that provided 24/7 online audio from the Havel See and allowed listeners to tap into sonic environment of the bay at any time, revealing the sounds that lie underwater. From squeegee, splashing, bubbling sounds presumably from its fish, crustacean, or avian inhabitants, to the airborne noises, of cars, planes, construction, boats, that filtered through from the urban environment, this listening situation afforded an perceptual immersion into reality from a perspective that crosses over different forms of life. These sounds are usually inaudible yet they are sounding everyday under the rivers, lakes, by the urban spaces we populate.
